  1. Iโ€™m 5โ€™ 11โ€ 215. Have not found a chair seat cushion that is comfortable yet. Do you think this cushion I would feel the bottom?

  2. I came to your video to see if you had an example on how to use the Seat Tilt Tension , its in the instructions it has a kind of a Center Round Dial below seat in the middle but I cant make it work ๐Ÿ˜… I might need to get help but FYI it does have one.

  3. Iโ€™ve been needing a good affordable work chair and Branch was that I was leaning towards. Thank you for this in-depth review, I bought the ergonomic chair. My back thanks you as well

  4. Hello Dan, and thank you for your review. I just bought the Branch Ergonomic chair using your link. Looking forward for the chair and I will leave some notes on my experience once I get it. Thank you !

  6. I have a chair from branch and really feel like the seat and arm rests are hard. What in the best ergonomic chair with softer cushion on seat and armrest?

  7. Thanks for the video! I can’t decide between this chair and the Colamy Atlas… the lumbar support and armrests seem better on the Branch, but I don’t know about the headrest. The Branch can have one, and it’s something very important to me to have a good headrest. If anyone’s going through this, what’s your opinion on it?

  8. Do you plan on doing a review on the new Branch ergonomic chair pro? It sounds like a nice upgrade. Thanks for the reviews.

  9. I disagree. I bought this chair and it’s heartbreakingly bad. Maybe it’s cuz I’m over 6ft, but the chair feels cheap compared to some of the $99 options I tried at my local Costco. The arm rests just move around, the headrest same thing, any time I go to reach for it, easily comes out of place. Cushion is stiff, the tension of the recliner is just.. bad, the fact that I have to get out of the chair to make any changes is terrible. It’s a marketing gimmick, don’t buy this chair.

  10. If any fellow Aussies are looking into this chair and are wondering where to get it… it is available through a Sydney based company called Recess, rebranded as ‘Ergo Pro’ โ˜บ

  11. Year update, this chair sucks man. Not even a year mine is falling apart and reaching out for warranty they are nigh useless. AVOID THIS CHAIR PEOPLE.

  12. Hi Dan ๐Ÿ‘‹, Branch has launched a new chair called "Ergonomic Chair Pro", do you plan to check it out? It looks interesting.

By the way, what do you think would be better: this Branch Ergonomic Chair or the Herman Miller Verus?
    Greetings from Colombia

  13. My review on this chair, after 3 years of use. Full disclosure: This is MY experience and it can be different for other people. Back in 2021 I got a budget from my company for home office office stuff during the pandemic. After sat on an Ikea Markus for 5 years, which was an ok chair, but had a big flaw for me. I sit on my legs 90% of the time so my tigh near the knee was always rubbing on the metal arms, to the point of getting a callus on the spot. For reference, I’m 5.9", 200 pounds, not (too) big and not tall. So I started looking for a chair on the $400-500 with larger seat. The Ergonomic checked all the boxes: Better construction, large seat width, sliding depth, tilt lock, non intrusive arms.

When I finished the assembly I got my first issue, the lumbar support is too hard (same material as the armrest) and positioned way too forward, with no fwd-aft adjustment. It probably works for someone who likes lumbar support, but in my case the 10% of the time I’m no sitting on one of my legs, my legs are extended with my butt at the end of the seat. Don’t judge me! Adding the mesh to the equation and the support felt like sandpaper, to the point of feeling my back burning at the shower from the abrasion. They had a 30 day return policy, but I had to pay the shipping, which for me it was almost half of the chair’s price. So I had no choice but keeping it. I saw a video where a guy also had issues with the lumbar support and removed it. So I removed it, but if you see the chair, the support base points forward, so it started poking my back. Yeah… My solution was putting a flexible plastic chopping board between the support ans the mesh. So THIS problem was solved.

When I installed the arms and the headrest i felt them a little flimsy. And not surprisingly after a month they were completely loose. The headrest was thghtened to the chair but bounced from one side to the other. The arm was firmly connected to the chair (thanks to the locking tab) but the upper pard was completely loose.

Six months later the mesh started to slip off the chair on the left side. Firstly once a week but it got worse and worse to the point I had to put it back 4 to 5 times a day. I solved it by sticking a piece of hockey tape inside the slit to grab the mesh and it never slipped again. I wouldn’t blame this one 100% on Branch, as it was slipping at the lumbar support curve, and since there’s no lumbar support, the mesh is holding my back by itself. Lately the right side started to slip. Today I’m reinserting in around twice a day, but since I’m buying another one, I wouldn’t bother fixing it

Next issue was on mid 2023, when the seat fabric started to get rough on seat’s right side, where my left foot rests. A month later the fabric gave up and I have a whole the size of a DVD. I don’t wear shoes at home. I’m always either barefoot, or in socks. Last month the left side also started to get rough.

Last issue, and the one that made me give up was the seat itself. In Jan 2024 I started hearing a clanking noise while moving on the chair. At first I thought it could be a loose screw (Business as usual on my Markus. I had an allen wrench on my desk for the monthly thightening) but everything was tight. A couple of weeks later the front-right side of the chair droped by around one inch. I couldn’t find a way to open the underside cover to see if there could be anything fixable. But for some unknown reason it went back to the correct position when moving while seated. It repeated a couple of times until March 2024, when it dropped and this time it never came back to the correct position.

For this reason I started developping an acute back pain after sit on the chair for more than 30 minutes. The pain is so strong that I can’t barely move for 1 to 2 hours. The first time I thought I had screwed up a vertebrae, but the pain goes away after a while.

Im far from being an ergonomically conscient dude, but I sit like that for more than 40 years. Nowadays I spend 8-10h a day in the office seated on a Knoll ReGeneration, performing worse contortionisms (the seat is too short both on width and depth) and by the end of the day my back feel as if nothing happened. But 30 minutes seated on the Branch chair and the back pain flare arrives. My workaround while I don’t find another chair is to sit at the border, as if it’s a stool. The REAL workaround is that this position is so unbearable that it makes me stand up every 10 minutes or so.

My Markus is still being used by my son, who has the same wheight/ height as me, and aside from the faux leather cracks here and there, is till 100% functional.

My conclusion is: Do not buy it, unless you love a big, poking lumbar support and don’t have plans to use it for more than a couple of minutes a day

  14. Got this chair, biggest piece of shit I’ve ever had. No better than any other cheap mesh office chair you’d find on Amazon. All plastic, terrible machining on the threads

  15. Man, I love that chair so much!!1!! I gave my fingers back after I lost them back in โ€˜Nam in โ€˜48. although , the chair did indeed place my fingers into the incorrect areas, leaving them stained permanently but at least i could feel through them still! Even if they are literally shitty!! OHHHHH I finally know why they are always so warm and wet!! ๐Ÿ˜‚Anyway, another thing that chair did for me was pay for my hospital bills when I was undergoing treatment for my stage 88 ultra mega turbo cancer which was a huge relief since I didn’t have enough organs to sell to pay for myself. That chair is a miracle and I couldn’t recommend it more!!!1!! 10/10

  16. My wife recently bought me this chair (w/headrest). I’m the same height as you and I agree completely with everything you said except for the part about the headrest. Like you said, you can’t adjust the tilt tension of the recliner and this is where the headrest comes in (EDIT: I just read your correction, I didn’t know it could be adjusted either lol!). You don’t have to strain your neck and shoulder muscles by trying to stay in a preferred reclined position, the headrest supporting your head helps you balance and find a sweet spot. I often recline back and zone out a little bit to relax my vision and shoulders and I don’t think this level of comfort would be possible without the headrest helping by keeping your head’s weight from moving back. I think it’s very well-designed for this chair, and it adds to its comfort; I honestly wouldn’t want this chair without it.

  17. Any chance you can review the Novo WFH chair from SitOnIt as a comparison? A lot of Fortune 500 companies seem to use them for furniture. My wife uses the Amplify with all the options and loves it. It’s way higher in price though. The Novo WFH is very reasonable in price similar to this.
