  1. I have a farberware mixer and just bought a KitchenAid. I would not recommend the farberware. Both the whisk attachment and dough hook broke, and you cannot buy new ones that fit it anywhere. It also would leave ingredients at the bottom unincorporated. Just skip it and get a kitchenaid.

  2. Can confirm that KitchenAid is trash. Several failures across several models. They’re garbage, I wouldn’t recommend any of them.

  3. I have a 25 year+ KA so it’s been great but I bought an Ankrasrum & love it. The white painted KA accessories are chipped so buyer beware! KA seems to only include white accessories so if you want stainless steel, it’s another $100!.
Ck the ankrasrum videos & reviews instead.
And, yes, there’s a bit of a learning curve.

  4. The 8qt kitchen-aid lift bowl mixer has a DC motor!! Thats where the Power is at!! It is also NSF APPROVED so it can be used in a commercial kitchen! If it comes in direct contact with food, it MUST be NSF APPROVED! look for the symbol on the item and dont remove it !! This a great mixer for a small bakery! Its got the power+ !!
I buy refurbished units directly from kitchenAid they are under full warranty at a reduced cost! Holiday sales are my favorite time to buy them. I make sausage and salami, the grinder works well and it can mix 10# of meat without batting an eye lash!! 😀😉🤑

  5. how the hell does this lady look younger in this video than she did in their videos from ten years ago? whatever you’re doing girl, keep doing it

  6. Idk what KitchenAid is on about, I have kneaded heavy doughs on speed 2+ (tilt head) for well over 15 minutes for 5+ years now. Nothing has broken it.

  7. What about attachments for other functions besides mixing? Our KA is invaluable for bread, cookies, etc., but we also prize it because we can make sausage and ground beef wit the meat grinder attachment and fantastic pasta (easily) with the pasta roller and cutter attachment. Is there another stand mixer that can do that?

  8. I have used Kitchen Aid stand mixers for more than 40 years. The only ones I’ve used are the crank-up bowl types. I was about to order a new $700+ Kitchen Aid mixer and actually placed the order for it. But then I said wait a sec, this is a lot of money. Let me look into what other mixers are available. I eventually found the Ankarsrum Swedish "Assistent" developed in the 1930’s by the famous Electrolux Company. (I still have my Electrolux canister vacuum that has lasted me, without fail, since the mid-1960s so I DO know the quality). After reading the reviews (mainly complaints) on the cheapening of the quality of Kitchen Aid and the rave reviews on the Ankarsrum, I canceled the order with Amazon and bought the Ankrarsrum from Pleasant Hill Grain who had every color they make. I have used this on the heaviest rustic bread doughs including bagel dough all the way to lighter everyday uses, beating eggs, whipping butter, etc. It just is an incredibly amazing machine built to last. I am so pleased that I bought the Ank. There are so many UTube videos reviewing the Ank. One Happy Customer who’s 1000% satisfied!

  9. I bought a new Kitchen Aid Classic at Sears 7-8 years ago for the closeout/discontinued price of $89.00. Its reputation is well- deserved.

  10. I called in to ATK a few times asking if they would review the Ankarsrum Assistent mixer. I am glad they finally reviewed it! Thank you!

  11. My wife and I owned a bakery for nearly 30 years in Tempe, AZ. Early on we used Kitchen Aid standard mixers and blew through them in a few months. Then we upgraded to the "professional" with slightly better results. Then to their "Commercial" which fared best, but still inadequate. We then splurged for the $1000 Globe 8 qt stand mixers. These were work horses that lasted for years. The only parts I needed to replace were the power buttons and the touch pad speed controls. If Globe moved to mechanical switches, these mixers would be perfect.
ALTHOUGH, now that we are retired, I’m going to invest in the Ankarsrum. I’m impressed and curious.
I love the reviews ATK! I relied on you for years for ingredient and equipment reviews. Bravo!

  12. Ankarsrum is nice but at $750 they can keep it.
Its the only mixer you even tested that could even knead bread dough which is laughable, why pretend that Bosch or Nutrimill Artiste do not even exist? Both are better than all the others except the Ankarsrum but at $200 for the Artiste and $400 for the Bosch they are a steal and way better than anything you listed

  13. I clean the beaters of my handheld mixer by lifting it and running at high speed to fling the cookie dough off. If I try that on a tilt head stand mixer, I’ll end up with dough on the cieling. Sticking with handheld for now.

  14. Inaccurate information here. The Kitchenaid 7 qt with the dc motor has no limit of a 2 minute dough needing time. It actually states 4 minutes in the manual is average but no limit mentioned or on the warranty info either.

  15. Where is Bosch? A Universal Plus will do a ton of dough without complaining, and they’re very quiet.

Kitchenaid is washed up. Why would you recommend a mixer you can’t actually use?

  16. I hope you make a full review of the Ankarsrum. I’ve always seen videos where they make breads but I’d like to see if it passes the other tests, like mixing small amounts or if all ingredients are mixed properly

  17. I’ve started my freshly milled grain journey this year. I had always loved my kitchen aide but for whole wheat dough it just can’t handle it. I have seen several use the Bosch mixer, it’s much cheaper than the Ank.i would love to know your thoughts.

  18. Kitchen aid has lost the plot. They use plastic control arms and garbage components and then just shove a disclaimer in their manual. Hobart would be ashamed of what they have become.

  19. The time limits have been withdrawn/updated by KitchenAid and they now say that kneading can take between 2-15 minutes. The speed restriction to number 2 has always been specified and isn’t new.

  20. Questionable test when the machine closest to Kitchen Aid, and probably their closest competitor (Kenwood), didn’t even appear in the video.

  21. Surprised you didn’t include the Bosch Universal Plus in your testing. I knead dough for five loaves in mine, and have done so without any issues for the last 12 years.

  22. I had a KitchenAid until I purchased my Ooni Pizza Oven, burnt it out in week 2 of making dough. Dug in and purchased the Ankarsrum, what an amazing investment! It’s magic!

  23. Kenwood = AMAZING powerful mixer.

I have no idea why they don’t even test it!

    They are deliberately ignoring Kenwood

  24. Love my KitchenAid but if the Ank was recommended, how come I don’t see it being used (not bashing the KitchenAid because I love mines & haven’t had any problems them)?

  25. I’d really like to see you do grain mills and other machines for grinding and flaking etc your own grains for people who’d like to make their own flours, cornmeal, different kinds of oats etc basically any tools for people dealing with whole grains. bonus if you include tools for things to harvest type processing for the full process for gardeners (example best tools to shuck the corn you grew then get the kernels off and turn them into cornmeal). Gear for sprouting your grains or doing microgreens etc would also be great. you could do a mini series of related ones on these topics. With lots of people interested in whole foods, farm to table, specialty ingredients, getting the most digestable form, nutrition and flavor out of their food etc. these would be great. Fermenting gear/tools would be another good topic =)

  26. My kitchen aid classic 4.5 can’t handle my homestead life anymore. Thank you for this review. Do you have one on the bosch mixer by chance?
